Magalu Photo Rules and the Two-Photo Minimum

Magazine Luiza, known to every Brazilian seller as Magalu, is one of the big-three Brazilian marketplaces alongside MercadoLivre and Americanas, and has emerged from the 2023 Americanas accounting crisis as the most trusted BR pure-play marketplace for third-party sellers. The two-photo minimum is enforced — listings submitted with a single image are returned for correction, a pattern that is stricter than MercadoLivre's rulebook where a single hero is technically accepted on some categories. Fulfillment Magalu, the first-party fulfillment tier, adds an additional product-physical-dimension limit where the sum of width, height, and depth must stay at or below 200 centimeters, and the two-photo minimum is enforced more rigorously on Magalu-Entregas SKUs than on marketplace-shipped ones.

The Magalu background policy is slightly more lenient than Americanas but clearly pinned on fundo branco as the default. Why the 2 MB Cap Wins for Magalu Sellers

The 2 megabyte per-image cap is the under-appreciated Magalu gotcha. Default export settings on Canva, PhotoRoom, and Adobe Express commonly produce 3 to 6 megabyte PNGs at the Magalu recommended 1200 by 1200, and every one of those gets rejected on upload. The manual workaround is the familiar resize-compress-retry loop — shrink the canvas, reduce JPEG quality, re-upload, fail again. The preset collapses that loop into a single export: the 900 by 900 square hits the Magalu floor, the JPEG quality lands at 0.88 to stay comfortably below 2 megabytes on a typical product shot, the fundo branco is pure digital white, and the two-photo minimum is already in the batch.
